Floridians Protecting Freedom Raises $2 million in 10 days

Momentum is building for a ballot measure focused on abortion access

Tallahassee, Florida – Floridians Protecting Freedom (FPF), the committee working to put abortion access on the ballot in 2024, announced in the ten days since launch of the effort, it has raised $2 million. The contributions are aggregated through the organization’s Political Committee and associated 501c(4) committee.

In the last ten days, through online and in-person trainings, FPF has trained over 2,500 volunteers in petition collection and has created a statewide hub infrastructure for volunteer petition collection.  Paid petition collection through PCI Consulting is set to begin June 1.

Lauren Brenzel, veteran Planned Parenthood staffer and Organizing Director for the 2020 Florida For All Campaign has been named Campaign Director, alongside operations consultant Raymer Maguire, who has served in leadership roles for Florida’s Fight for Fifteen, Second Chances, and medical cannabis amendments.

“The enthusiasm for this effort is unprecedented. The funding and volunteer engagement shows how important removing government interference from our private healthcare decisions is for Floridians,” said Brenzel, Campaign Director. “After politicians in Tallahassee passed the most extreme 6 week abortion ban in the nation, it’s clear Floridians are ready to have their voices heard,” Brenzel continued.

“Floridians value personal freedom, medical privacy, and making health care decisions with their family, the people they trust, and their doctor. They don’t want interference from politicians. We’re an organization supported by a broad and powerful coalition that understands Florida’s historic role in ensuring access to reproductive health care in the South,” Moné Holder, Chair of Floridians Protecting Freedom, concluded.
