Dr. Goodman Speaks Out Against Florida’s Extreme Abortion Ban in Latest Campaign Ad

FLORIDA – The Yes on 4 campaign today released a new television ad featuring Dr. Goodman, a respected Florida OB/GYN for 50 years, who is speaking out against the state’s extreme abortion ban and urging voters to support Amendment 4 this November. We must ensure doctors have the ability to provide the best possible care to their patients, without fearing going to prison for doing so.

In the ad, titled “Dr. Goodman,” he shares the heart-wrenching reality of telling patients that their babies will not survive – and now, because of Florida’s abortion ban, he also has to inform them that he cannot help.

“As a doctor, I’m committed to saving lives, but Florida’s extreme abortion ban ties my hands and puts lives at risk. Imagine telling a woman I can’t help her until she’s on the brink of death – all because politicians are making medical decisions,” said Dr. Goodman upon the release of the ad.“It’s outrageous, it’s dangerous, and it’s wrong. I’m voting Yes on 4 to put patients’ health and safety back where it belongs – in the hands of doctors, not the government.”

No one is more qualified to make medical decisions than doctors, but right now their hands are tied because of Florida’s extreme abortion ban.
