Floridians Protecting Freedom Campaign Launches New TV Ad in Spanish Featuring Dr. Grande, Florida OBGYN

Titled “Protect Moms,” highlights the risks of Florida’s extreme abortion ban and calling for a Yes Vote on Amendment 4

FLORIDA – The Yes on 4 campaign released a new television ad today in Spanish featuring  Dr. Cecilia Grande, a prominent gynecology and obstetrics specialist with over 30 years of experience practicing in Miami, urging citizens to vote in favor of Amendment 4. The ad, titled “Protect Moms,” is a powerful reminder that 6 out of 10 women who seek abortions are already mothers and emphasizes the dangerous consequences of Florida’s extreme abortion ban. The ad will air on broadcast and digital streaming services targeting the Latino community statewide.

“As a woman of faith and a doctor, it is my sacred duty to protect women. My patients are often mothers, with children that need them, and now those women have to wait until they are at the brink of death to receive care. Since the near-total ban on abortion went into effect in May, not only have women’s lives been compromised, but doctors are also facing stiff penalties – from losing their licenses to jail time for providing reproductive health care to their patients,” said Dr. Grande.

This message is a wakeup call to the Latino community urging them to Vote Yes on Amendment 4 and end this extreme abortion ban. No one is more qualified to make medical decisions than doctors, but right now their hands are tied because of Florida’s extreme abortion ban. You can watch “Protect Moms” – which began airing today– here and view the transcription below. With just six weeks until Election Day, Dr. Grande’s voice is a crucial reminder of what’s at stake in this election. Voting Yes on 4 is the only way to keep our most personal medical decisions where they belong: between the patients, their family, and their doctors.

AD TRANSCRIPT

This is a sanctuary where I speak frankly with women about their pregnancies.

So allow me to speak frankly with you.

Many of the women who face serious complications with their pregnancies are already mothers… with kids at home who depend on them.

But Florida law requires me to wait until my patient is on the brink of death before providing care.

My faith, and my oath as a doctor, call me to protect the life of the mother.

I urge you, vote Yes on 4.
