Media Advisory: Floridians Protecting Freedom to Launch Campaign to Ensure Constitutional Right to Abortion
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Floridians want the freedom to make their own personal health care decisions without interference from politicians, but the Legislature recently passed, and Gov. Ron DeSantis signed, a six-week abortion ban. That’s before many people even know they’re pregnant.
Floridians Protecting Freedom is launching a ballot initiative campaign to give Florida voters the chance to ensure their personal medical decisions are theirs and theirs alone to make. The decision to have an abortion belongs to Floridians, their families, and those they trust — this campaign is an opportunity to ensure those protections in our state constitution.
Florida’s abortion ban goes against the will of a supermajority of Floridians across the political spectrum. Polling shows that 64% of Floridians say abortion should be legal in most or all cases.
